Re: Qmidiroute patched for some GS use
The patch version I uploaded today (0.5.1) adds and modifies about three main things: qmidiroute-0.4.0-to-0.5.1-patches.7z 1. SysEx Edit: If you have multiple offset values that do (or could) occur on the same message, you can now group them with a new syntax to denote it. That is, wrap each comma-s...

Re: King's Quest IV Finale MIDI
Well, after getting multiple SysEx edits to a single message working, I still saw the volume increase (and decrease on the timpani), so I looked for other reasons. It turns out, that when outputting only SysEx (including those with the edits), the volumes were correct, but as soon as the notes began...

Re: King's Quest IV Finale MIDI
Thanks, Jaffaman, Honestly, I know next to nothing about Sysex messages (other than sending or deleting it). I was under the impression that all the kq4.syx file did was mute channels 1 and 11-16 on the file, since early versions of Sierra soundtracks included other versions (Casio maybe?) of the m...

Re: King's Quest IV Finale MIDI
That's great, thanks for providing it! It sounds great with the timpani! I don't listen to the non-soundtracks as much, so you've inadvertently provided me with another test case for my qmidiroute patches. This SysEx seemingly affecting this overflow is the "output level" in the "patc...

Re: MIDI Editing Software
Jaffa, Digital Orchestrator Pro is what I used to use. It's 16-bit though I think. If it does work 32-bit, it is scaled for old resolution screens and shows up too small. Record Producer fixes this, it's 90% the same as DOP with a new skin and a few new useful features. Yeah my "Digital Orches...

Re: MIDI Editing Software
I also dislike that they seem to be making users give an email address to install it. Not that I've tried it, so I'm purely going from the screenshots I saw while downloading cakewalk. Sadly, Rosegarden is only available for GNU/Linux, not that I like to use any other OS. I wanted to answer your que...

Low-Polyphony MIDI Equipment Debian Recording Workaround
In other words, this is a method for avoiding dropped notes using Debian GNU/Linux for multi-track recording by keeping everything in-sync with JACK-transport. First, it's a good idea to boot a low-latency kernel when dealing with music, so if you have a 64-bit (amd64-compatible) processor, I sugges...

Re: Qmidiroute patched for some GS use
I had a fairly hard time installing this on another Debian machine of mine today, so I feel obligated to tell anyone trying this for themselves the steps I took: In the following commands, replace all instances of $VERSION with the version number on the file you downloaded, such as "0.5.0"...

Re: Physical Quest Studios CDs and lossless digital preservation
(PS - Really enjoying the interview you recently did with the Space Quest Historian!) Thanks for mentioning that, goatmeal1! Since reading your post this evening, I've watched all 4 available so far, finding them quite fascinating. Hah, I wondered if anyone would've seen that. We talked for 5 hours...
