Re: Quest Studios MIDI files

All of the MIDI files from Quest Studios that I have (with some fill-ins courtesy of Spikey) are now posted at my website . This is 99.9% of the MIDI files that were on Tom's site in 2008, along with a few things he had posted previously but later taken down. Some details are yet to be filled in, I...

Re: SysEx to make selected QS tracks easier to play on MT-32

Alright, that makes sense.

I could never figure out why Tom tried to save 11kb of space by making a single file "work" for both GM and MT-32, and requiring special handling instructions for one or the other.

SysEx to make selected QS tracks easier to play on MT-32

In most cases, Tom provided System Exclusive messages for the MT-32 with his recordings. But there were exceptions with certain files that Tom listed as being playable on either General MIDI or MT-32. Here are some examples. The Colonel's Bequest | The Entertainer | cbgm200.mid This song is not desi...

Re: Looking for files from Quest Studios

Sorry about that. :) Most of the files I've asked for in the last batch are files that I believe neither I nor Andrew have. So those are very important to collect. Now I'm back to just asking for things that I think Andrew has, but I don't. Starting a new list: Title: Freddy Pharkas. Track: "Closing...

Re: Quest Studios MIDI files

My work continues slowly on the spreadsheet (as I'm the only one working on it), but I've got a lot of things automated now. For example, if a file does not have embedded SysEx and requires SysEx to be loaded in advance to play correctly on the MT-32, this is now determined automatically from a colu...

Re: Looking for files from Quest Studios

Now looking for: cbgm12.zip from The Colonel's Bequest, originally described as: "Victrola Music #7" by Ken Allen. Too bad Laura didn't have access to a digital victrola. Includes embedded SysEx patch bank for the MT-32. What we now call Victrola Theme #1-4 and Fifi's Victrola #1-3, Tom had original...

Re: New lossless FLAC recordings of MIDI soundtracks

Double Whammy tonight! Now available at the link for New Lossless Recordings : The Colonel's Bequest and Zeliard . This recording of The Colonel's Bequest re-orders and re-names some tracks for a (hopefully) superior listening experience, one more in line with the order you might have first heard th...
