Re: Optimizing the sound quality for the MT-32 and SC-8820

I wasn't, I own one of those, but I legitimately thought the 8820 had digital outs :O Now I know different, I had thought that for a decade!! Well there you go. Why oh why would anyone want one of them? The 8850 is complex enough WITH the full front panel, although I admit the 8820 has some sound im...

Re: Optimizing the sound quality for the MT-32 and SC-8820

If the OP is still around, I can give very detailed answers to his/her queries, I just don't want to write that wall o text if they're not :) A big point that is quick to write is that the SC-8820 should be recorded with optical digital cables, not analog cables. One of the major advantages of the 8...

Re: Spammers, Site Updates, Where have I been?

Congrats Andrew! I haven't had kids yet, but I imagine at those ages there is a lot of work involved. Beautiful photo of the family, by the way. You've been doing fine, there isn't really much to say if music isn't being uploaded. Trust me, I know. ;) My website had a new skin, and is being worked o...

Anyone know how to search the old QS forum?

Hey folks,

I just tried using the Wayback Archive, web.archive.org, using www.queststudios.com/forum. I can bring up the search, but when I use it it always errors with "did you forget to search for something?".

Re: QFG2VGA MIDI

Thanks for the response. I'm 99% sure the only possibilities are on an external HD of Tom's, or deleted, but you never know.

I wonder if anyone has a beta copy of QFG2VGA, which probably are digital audio but you never know..

QFG2VGA MIDI

Hey folks,

Does anyone have any MIDI files from Tom's QFG2VGA soundtrack? For example, from an early build?

I'm assuming not, but it never hurts to ask. :) Not to mention the author is a little hard to get a hold of these days!

Regards,
- Alistair

Re: Anyone hear from Tom?

He sold his MT-32?? How long ago was this?

Thanks for the info. How long ago was your last contact?

Found him on YouTube tonight, send him a message there. He was last active a few months ago, so he's still alive and kicking at least.

Anyone hear from Tom?

Hey guys,

Over the years I have kept in semi regular contact with Tom L., but in the last few he has been hard to reach at all. Not sure if anyone else has had better luck?

Re: Larry 5 and CM-32L

I have MIDI files of the tracks with the effects, too, so I can send them to you at some point. At least you know what the tracks are, that is a big part of it. They all play on the drum part, so finding them was a little annoying.

Re: Larry 5 and CM-32L

There are a few ways to extract the music. Probably the easiest for someone who doesn't have the tools I have would be SCI Viewer, no longer supported but available on Sierra Help, amongst other sites. You're right about recording the music from the faulty driver blocks the transmittal. That is why ...
