Re: "Quest for Glory 5: Dragon Fire" music from QuestStudios?
Since the tracks were simply titled versions of the extracted CD digital audio, it's not like a MIDI score Tom carefully edited and recorded that one cannot duplicate themselves. Thus, anyone can come to the same end result by extracting the game's resources. Some of the links Jaffa included may be ...

Re: Sierra game synth guide, v3
"I have one possible solution to your note about needing to load the queststudios' soundtrack SysEx to enable chorus/reverb, turn the SC-55 off, start the game and turn the SC-55 back on, in order to avoid GS resets:" Thanks Lucas, but reverb and chorus is controlled by CC messages, not Sy...

Re: Sierra game synth guide, v3
You're welcome my friend. The CD-ROM ironically isn't how the score is meant to be heard, and I've seen others who, like me, don't consider it superior to the SC-55 originals. It's also not recorded from a SC-55 (AFAIK), so has no relation to any soundfont or SC-55. I like Demester's because it's no...

Sierra game synth guide, v3
Hey folks, I posted this in the Facebook group "Sierra Music and Memories" this week after it hit 300 members (come join!). It's the 3rd revision of my "what Sierra games to play with what synth" guide, and has some extra information for those that seek it, as well as quick navig...

Join the club, my friend! I feel your pain, I've been working for almost 10 years to find the time, studio setup, space, right mix of equipment.. Hopefully there now.

Re: Newbie alert - Using MT32 with a DAW
It's certainly not a hard thing to accomplish, I'll just need to decipher your setup to figure out where the issue is. Is the MT-32 receiving data from the keyboard, regardless of whether you can hear the output? Or are you not triggering the MT-32? I.e. is the issue that you can't hear the MT-32, o...

Re: GS Drum kits in the soundtrack archive
It has program changes on Channel 10 for 0 and 7. From what I have gathered, program changes on channel 10 in a GS file select the drum kit to use. However, there does not appear to be a kit #7 in any of the info I have. That's because - there is no #7 kit in GS! A Patch 0 program change is an MT-3...

Some solo Sierra parts on the INTEGRA-7
Hey folks, I recorded this a while back, but never got around to uploading it. It's a bunch of solo instruments/parts from Sierra scores played back on high quality Roland INTEGRA-7 patches. The idea at the time was to give a preview of the quality of the Integra for the recordings I was working on....

Re: Leisure Suit Larry 3 - CM-64 Soundtrack
Ari, about the MIDI files you included. I haven't opened them, but what patch map are they for? I'm thinking the CM-32P only has 64 instruments, so it probably only has patch change messages from 1-64, right? Or are they like the digital files, some parts for MT and some for CM?

Re: Tom Lewandowski sighting!
Without wishing to speak FOR the man, I suspect he's been away from the hobby long enough that it's interesting again. I went through a similar thing with about 5 years away from it in the early 2010s. Although, he's returning to composing, not QuestStudios work per se, so maybe I shouldn't get ahea...
