Re: Welcome!
Ham: I was wondering something else: of Police Quest I, only the version by Shad0wfax is posted on the website. What happened to the "original" version? The original version will be posted by me on Facebook and this forum soon, my recordings but very similar to a typical QuestStudios relea...

New Facebook group for Sierra music
Hey folks, As part of my website (QS' sister site, Sierra Music Central, www.sierramusiccentral.com) being updated over the back half of 2020, I started a Sierra music group on Facebook for Sierra music discussion. There's already a few posts with facts and unreleased music. Anyone is welcome to joi...

Police Quest 3 MT-32 soundtrack beta release
Hey folks, As part of a new Facebook group I started, I'm releasing some soundtracks I recorded but never released. PQ3 MT-32 was recorded by me in early 2011, with further editing in 2017. It's not finalised, and I would make some changes like removing SFX (I stopped including them around 2012, or ...

Re: Identifying the Piano and Victrola themes in Colonel's Bequest
I would suggest Victrola Theme 1-4 are all originals by Ken Allen (messaged him to confirm, haven't heard back yet). My violinist girlfriend assures me Fifi Victrola #2 is Ken Allen and not classical, too. (In her words, it's "made up" classical.) Funnily enough, a design document for CB w...

Re: Roland CM-64 tricks
Thanks a lot Lucas! :) I will get back to you in the coming months, coming to the end of my college semester here. I wasn't wanting to hear incompatibilities, more the higher reverb, and the potential for sound to be different, IIRC. As for SysEx, as time has gone on, I acquired a tool to extract th...

Re: Physical Quest Studios CDs and digital preservation
Can someone who has the LSL6CD please contact me? I'd like a lossless rip of Tom's enhanced version of the digital "Cell Block Love", if indeed it is on the physical CD (maybe it was made available later?).

Re: Creating a mixed sysex + midi .mid file
For what it's worth, I've always used Voyetra Windows sequencers (Tom who made the MIDI files at QuestStudios used Voyetra DOS sequencers). They are easily the best for basic MIDI editing I've found. Very easy to deal with SysEx, you can do what Tom did and embed them into the file, or you can even ...

Re: Roland CM-64 tricks
Thanks Lucas for all your hard work. :) Is there any chance of you doing RWI recordings for some of the other scores, like COTL, Willy, Larry 3 and QFG2? I would really appreciate that. BTW: "At least this soundtrack sets the MASTER VOLUME at 80, and not 100 like many others." That is prob...

Re: MT-32 User Memory
Weird! I had no idea. What do you view as the first note on the drum part?

Re: MT-32 User Memory
The MT-32 note isn't F2 however, it's F4. It is usually silent, you're right- it's specially programmed in the EQ1 MT-32 patch bank.
Many Sierra MT-32 games use reverse cymbal on the drumkit, channel 10.
