Re: Larry 5 and CM-32L
There are a few ways to extract the music. Probably the easiest for someone who doesn't have the tools I have would be SCI Viewer, no longer supported but available on Sierra Help, amongst other sites. You're right about recording the music from the faulty driver blocks the transmittal. That is why ...

Re: Larry 5 and CM-32L
I don't believe there is a driver that fixes the issue, publically available at least. Asking NewRisingSun would be a good start. I have only heard them out of game with MUNT and the CM ROM loaded. To be perfectly honest, I think most of the sound effects, if not all, detract from the listening expe...

Re: Games with either LAPC-1 or Sound Canvas modes or SB16 OPL4
A lot of Sierra GM/Sound Canvas games (especially later ones) feature percussion sounds which are only on GS compatible drum maps, such as Scratch-Pull, even if they use the default 'STANDARD' drumkit. You can read more in this thread: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=32587 Space Quest ...

Re: Conquests of the longbow
For those who don't want to wait, someone recorded the MIDI files here:
http://rmla.comoj.com/music.html
The version on QS was just the MT-32 score recorded anyway (and not by the QuestStudios webmasters), so this may even be in better quality (and probably better encoding too).

I remember most of the q and a If anyone is interested. Probably can find links on the Wayback archive also.

Re: Muki.io - A web-based MT-32 Emulator MIDI Player, among other things.
Pretty amazing. Obviously not perfect but MIDI playback for the average person rarely is! Most people would have no idea a conceptual difference between Adlib, GM and MT-32. This site is very useful, anything that furthers the life of MIDI is golden! I still believe that digital versions of everythi...

Re: SC-8850 information
Hey guys :) Just happened upon this. In the queststudios forums once, I believe I read a discussion about how, initially, the SC-8850's drums didn't seem as punchy or fun as the SC-88Pro's, but that they grew on you. Now it seems that's lost to time, as even achive.org's queststudios forums are quit...

Larry 5 and CM-32L
Just thought I'd post this since it came up in my week. NewRisingSun and I have been investigating Leisure Suit Larry 5. It had been theorized that the game was in fact, composed for the Roland CM-32L (which contains 32 extra sound effects, as well as the usual MT-32 instruments), and not the usual ...

Oooold KQ6 Private Collection page- anyone have it?
I have been secretly working on a KQ6 project, and for fun, I wanted to revisit the old enhanced Audio CD pages from when Tom was selling the CD's, circa 1999-2000. I can access most from the Wayback archive but not KQ6, found the page via search but the page blocks me with a don't steal bandwidth e...
