Re: King's Quest IV Finale MIDI
It's par for the course. I sent him some exclusive tracks back when we were still talking, and they are part of his channel now with zero credit to me or acknowledgement in any way. The credit given usually implies some direct relationship with a composer that never took place (and in fact often hap...

Re: AGI, MT-32, and the Apple IIgs
While you are correct, that has nothing to do with the Apple IIGS soundtracks. The big finds are: - that the Apple IIGS scores represent different, longer, and greater quantities of music - that the Apple IIGS scores may have been composed (or at least arranged for) for the Roland MT-32 So the DOS A...

Re: AGI, MT-32, and the Apple IIgs
As for AGI soundtracks. I have the Apple II GS for KQ1-4. I imagine the man who made the emulator is related to the custom software Andrew claims he paid to have developed for him, so he would be a good lead to follow up with. I'd be quite curious to hear the Police Quest 1 AGI score, for example.

Re: AGI, MT-32, and the Apple IIgs
Unfortunately, Andrew Harrington (Xeen Music) is a bit of a problematic guy, at least from a QuestStudios/Sierra Music Central "make things free and available to all" perspective. Recently he stopped me from gaining access to the KQ8 master files because he wanted exclusive access to it, p...

Vale, Jan Paul Moorhead
Hey folks, It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of a well-known Sierra/Dynamix composer, Jan Paul Moorhead (aka Jan Moorehead, and other variations). He passed in August 2020, survived by his wife, and this was discovered this week by a former Dynamix employee. He is probably best kn...

Re: King's Quest IV Finale MIDI
OK, with Note Off, you guys mean the velocity for "Note Off", not a controller command, right? I see that KQ4 uses nonstandard values. In every Sierra game, barring maybe an odd track here or there, the default 64 is used for "Off" velocity, and KQ4 uses sometimes 64 and sometime...

Re: King's Quest IV Finale MIDI
Great job, Ari and Jaffa. Always appreciate hard work, and I was considering recording/enhancing the KQ4 Finale for a project I'm (slowly) working on. I did become friends with William Goldstein on Facebook recently, interestingly enough. Not sure if you guys saw, but he released an "official&q...

It's easy. There's a simple registry hack which removes the registration.

Re: MIDI Editing Software
Jaffa, Digital Orchestrator Pro is what I used to use. It's 16-bit though I think. If it does work 32-bit, it is scaled for old resolution screens and shows up too small. Record Producer fixes this, it's 90% the same as DOP with a new skin and a few new useful features.
