Re: SysEx to make selected QS tracks easier to play on MT-32

Me neither, although I'm sure people could make arguments about some of my decisions! Having looked at the Entertainer, it's a converted GM file. So it bears no relationship to the MT-32 original file, in velocities or patches. Rosella's Organ is the same. Weirder still, it's neither correct for MT-...

Re: SysEx to make selected QS tracks easier to play on MT-32

The Colonel's Bequest | The Entertainer | cbgm200.mid This song is not designed for MT-32 playback right out of the box. Although only a Honky Tonk piano is used on all three tracks, the MT-32 will treat the patch as an Electric Piano. Simply change the patch on all three tracks from Electric Piano...

Re: Looking for files from Quest Studios

Sorry about that. :) Most of the files I've asked for in the last batch are files that I believe neither I nor Andrew have. So those are very important to collect. Now I'm back to just asking for things that I think Andrew has, but I don't. No problem, just explaining why I posted twice. :) Here's ...

Re: Looking for files from Quest Studios

You edited your post, and I had my browser open from earlier, so I missed the Iceman one. Here it is :)

Re: Looking for files from Quest Studios

For the second part- Sierra's generic GM patch bank is the same from KQ6/QFG3 onwards. So transmit the SysEx from ANY of the post 1992 games, they're all the same. If you had the real bank and not Tom's one, you'd see they all have the same LCD message: "Sierra On-Line". Dynamix had their own generi...

Re: New lossless FLAC recordings of MIDI soundtracks

Aubrey Hodges confirmed today Yserbius was originally composed for MT-32, as all games first included with INN were. He said the standalone release may be different, but probably not. Like Spikey, I have to draw some limits around the scope of this project. Though I may list titles like "Front Page ...

Re: Quest Studios MIDI files

Takes me back! I recorded the MT-32 version for this site back in 2004 (?). I was working on converting it to GS for a while, but gave up.

Still want to record it digitally some day..

Re: Looking for files from Quest Studios

(1) I found a site that has an archive of the Quest Studios MIDIs (but not file # 14), and also another set of MIDIs, extracted from the game in 118 pieces. http://www.mirsoft.info/gmb/music_info. ... e=Mjg1NA== However, these still sound wrong even after sending the Willy SysEx from the Quest port...
